As a child, I always lived in a daydream, wishing for a life I had built in my head. I didn’t have the greatest life growing up, and as I got older, the struggle only grew. I have done a lot over the years to change my life and strive to become what I always envisioned for myself, but happiness and contentment have not come easily for me.
I have undergone years of counseling, gone through a 3-month recovery program, countless self-help books, podcasts, and, most recently, have tried to find online resources to help me find my path to happiness. That was when I realized that out of all the blogs and websites from top influencers to your average mom, no one was keeping it real. Everyone preached they had the magic cure, only to find faults and flaws with these heroes down the road. There were parent bloggers abusing their children after posting the most inspirational videos. Marriage podcasters are selling books and running seminars about how to have the perfect marriage, only to get divorced themselves. Influencers lately have even gone so far as to rent jets, Airbnbs, and cars for a 10-minute reel pretending to have it all, yet none of it is really theirs. Fitness moms who made me feel inadequate for not having the same body as them, only to find out they got it through magic pills or surgery, not necessarily hard work. No shame in that girl, I had the surgery too;) I just don't think we should all be trying to fit a mold of some stranger online or hold ourselves to unrealistic standards.
So I started this blog to share the real struggles of life that I think we all have. I will share the good, the bad, and the ugly because let’s face it, no one has it all! This won’t be a self-help website or a place to come for answers to your problems, because I am still trying to figure my stuff out, too. I will, however, share my own struggles, what worked for me, and what didn’t. I think sometimes we just need to know we are not alone. It’s ok to lose yourself, as long as you can find yourself again, and right now that is my journey. So come walk through the mess with me as I figure out my path in life and maybe help you discover the way to yours :)
xoxo,
Mandy
